How can I take part in the study?

I'm a daycare director: Participating daycare centers are randomly selected. Only daycares selected by the research team can participate in the study. If your daycare center has been selected to participate in the study, you will be contacted by a member of our research team.​I am an early childhood educator: Participating daycare centers are randomly selected. Therefore, only educators whose daycare center has been selected and has agreed to collaborate with the research team can participate in the study.​I am a support worker at a hospital in Quebec: Only women aged between the ages of 18 and 45 who are support workers at one of the three following hospitals and who are not in direct contact with children as part of their work can take part in the study: CHU Sainte-Justine, CHU Québec and CHU Sherbrooke.

Question 2

As a participant, will I receive my test results?

If you are an employee or a daycare worker and are participating in the study : Yes.We will send you the results of your CMV tests, whether positive or negative.If you are a plasma donor and are participating in the study : No.For reasons of logistics, we will only analyse your 2 plasma specimens many months after their collection. At that point, the results of your CMV tests will no longer be relevant to you. Therefore, we will not send you the results of your CMV tests.Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about the results of your CMV tests : contact details.

Question 3

As a participant, why do I have to answer the same questions several times?

If you are an employee or a daycare worker, it is important for us to assess monthly  (or weekly if you are CMV positive) whether your level of exposure to the virus has changed during the study period.If you are a plasma donor, it is important for us to assess over a one-year period whether your level of exposure to the virus has changed during the study period.

Question 4

As a participant, who do I contact if I have problems collecting a saliva sample, need to reschedule an appointment, or want to send a saliva sample to the EDUQ-CMV laboratory at CHU Sainte-Justine?
